About Fanturf Culture
How we document supporter culture.
Fanturf Culture is an editorial archive about stickers, tifos, away travel and organized support across football and other sports. Its purpose is to preserve context, not to romanticize every message or turn supporters into content.
Editorial principles
- We research before publishing and distinguish documented evidence from interpretation.
- We use supporter terminology in its local and sporting context, across football, basketball, ice hockey, handball and volleyball.
- We preserve uncertainty, cite sources and correct material errors rather than presenting assumptions as facts.
Sources and translation
Articles combine academic research, governing-body material, specialist publications, supporter writing and clearly identified community discussions. Translations are edited for each language and sporting context rather than copied from automatic translation output. Source links remain attached to every version.
Corrections and responsibility
Preserving a sticker, banner or disputed message does not mean endorsing it. We add context where material involves discrimination, violence, legal risk or uncertain attribution. If a factual error, mistranslation or incorrect group attribution is identified, we review and correct it.
